During the coronavirus outbreak the surgery remains open but will be operating differently.  We are suspending booking all face to face appointments with effect from 16 March 2020 until further notice.  Please do not attend the surgery.  If you believe that you need to be seen, please request a telephone appointment.  If you already have an appointment booked do not attend the surgery. If it is clinically appropriate the clinician will arrange for you to be seen. Essential nursing appointments will continue as usual for now. This action is essential to maintain your health and the health of your community as advised by the Department of Health.

Anyone with a new persistant cough and/or fever should self-isolate for 7 days; do not call 111 or contact other healthcare providers.  If symptoms deteriorate and you feel you need medical care, contact NHS 111.  Testing will only be done for those in hospital with symptoms

The practice complies with Data Protection and Access to Medical Records legislation. Identifiable information about you will be shared with others in the following circumstances:

 To provide further medical treatment for you e.g. from district nurses and hospital services.

  • To help you get other services e.g. from the social work department. This requires your consent.
  • When we have a duty to others e.g. in child protection cases Anonymised patient information will also be used at local and national level to help the Health Board and Government plan services e.g. for diabetic care.

Improving Patient Care:  A modern information system has been developed, which will make increased use of information from medical records with the intention of improving health services. The system is being delivered by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) and NHS England on behalf of the NHS.  It is important that you read the leaflet and Frequently Asked Questions How information about you helps to provide better care so that you understand how information in medical records can be used to improve the way that healthcare is delivered.   FAQs

 If you do not want information that identifies you from being shared outside the practice, please write to the practice manager who will make a note of this in your medical record. This will prevent your information being used other than where necessary by law, such as in case of a public health emergency. You will also be able to restrict the use of information held by other places you receive care from. However, this will not affect the care you receive.

Reception and administration staff require access to your medical records in order to do their jobs. These members of staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the medical staff.
